Application for a permit for an internal security department

There are various organisational forms under which activities can be organised in accordance with the Law of 2 October 2017 regulating private and special security.

Internal security department

An internal security department does not provide services to third parties, but performs security activities on its own behalf. For example, a company (legal or natural person) may set up a specific department within its organisation that is responsible for organising security activities at all of the company’s locations. The security guards of an internal security department therefore only act for the company to which they belong. The word ‘department’ means that security is organised in a structural manner. This means that the security activities are included in the division of tasks of at least one employee, and that the activities are carried out on a recurring or at least periodic basis. Both commercial and non-commercial legal entities, and both private and public legal entities, may set up an internal security department.

Permit

All companies or departments operating in the private and special security sector must have a permit.
